Letting Go & Going Beyond
Hello, and welcome to my Counselling Space.
My name is Lizette, and I am a registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist providing therapy sessions to adult individuals
face to face and online across the UK.
In my role, I place great emphasis on the significance of the therapeutic relationship. Creating a warm and welcoming environment is key to establishing trust and facilitating open communication. My practice is centrally based in Exeter as well as Newton Abbot, and I also offer online sessions. My approach involves blending insights from various therapeutic modalities to cater to each individual’s unique needs.
By tailoring strategies based on personal challenges, I aim to provide a friendly, yet professionally guided counselling experience for either current, or long term issues that supports clients in their journey of self-discovery and growth.
As an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), I adhere to their rigorous ethical framework. My commitment to professional growth is reflected in my completion of both Level 3 Foundation and Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Counselling. Since qualifying, I have also attained my BACP Certificate of Proficiency.
Additionally, I’ve undertaken a Bereavement Support Foundation Course (NCS 2022) and consistently engage in continuing professional development to enrich and elevate my practice.
I believe we each have an innate ability to know what is right for us. But sometimes, due to either loss, trauma, bereavement, abuse, adverse events from our childhood or a life changing event, we lose our direction. Given the right environment, including a safe space to be seen and heard, counselling promotes healing, change and growth.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I use several modalities adding flexibility and creativity into the sessions. I specialise in anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, replacement child syndrome and trauma, offering patience and understanding to explore everyday challenges or unhealthy patterns from emotional wounds.
We all need to take time for ourselves. Making ourselves a priority is key to a fulfilling and rewarding life. Therefore, the best time to change is now. It is my intention to be curious, sometimes challenging, but always compassionately guiding you on your healing journey to become your best self.
Therapy takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy – and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through therapy:
